As artists, we really appreciate what you have created at Aaron Burr House...a warm and friendly inn, knowledgeable (and smiling) staff and great service! Breakfast - in - Bed was such a treat for us. May was an ideal month to hike through the WildFlower Preserve and stroll through some Covered Bridges too. Your in-town location is ideal to do a little exploring and come back to rest before going back out for lunch...Our only real surprise was the great selection of live music that New Hope has at night during the week (does anyone have a real job around here?)...Thank you for pointing us to the best spots for live entertainment....

Re: Afternoon Tea Baby Shower
"I wanted to drop you a
quick note to say thanks so much for the fantastic service and location you
provided for the baby shower I hosted at the inn on June 9. The setting
was just beautiful, the service impeccable and the food and tea
fantastic. It was a wonderful affair and the mother-to-be was
overwhelmed by the site and the event. I appreciate all you did to make
my planning easy, especially since I was doing it long distance. You
have a fine establishment and I would highly recommend it to anyone in need of
lodging or a place to hold a very special and intimate event."

Re: Gift Certificates
Nadine and Carl: My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful overnight at the Inn earlier this summer. We had received a gift certificate for the Inn as a wedding gift and would like to do the same for our nephew and his
fiancee who are getting married next month. How do we go about ordering a gift certificate--and we would like to add tickets for a performance at the Bucks County Playhouse? Thank you again for excellent hospitality during our stay. We look forward to hearing from you.

Re: A Special Request
Dear Carl and Dinie,
Hope all is well. My husband Shawn and I have stayed at your Inn's Canopy room (A) several times and always enjoyed
our stay.
I need to ask you for a special favor. Back on 5/9/2008, Shawn and I
took my parents to New Hope to celebrate Mothers Day and we stayed
at the Inn on the night of 5/9/2008 ( or perhaps it was
5/10/2008) My parents stayed at the room with a sitting room, a
balcony, and a Jacuzzi on the second floor. I remember my dad wrote
a beautiful message in Chinese Mandarin on the notebook provided at
the room describing how much he and my mom enjoyed their stay at
New Hope and your Inn.
My parents live in Taiwan and I only get to see them twice a year.
My parents are getting older and every moment I spend with them is
sacred to me, including the trip to New Hope two years
ago. I miss them every much and am wondering if you can send me the
page with my dad’s message on.
I hope this is not too much trouble to ask. Please email me back and
let me know if my request could be granted.
I hope to hear from you soon and hope Shawn and I will visit New
Hope and stay at your Inn again this year. Thank you very much.
Karin C. , (New York, NY)
Dear Karin, I am happy to inform you that we
found the
Guest Room Diary from '08...Carl
The following is the Room Diary translation
from Mandarin 9Chinese):
We are visiting from Taiwan . Today is Mother’s
Day. Through our daughter and son-in-laws’ thoughtful arrangement,
we came to visit this beautiful and artistic town (New Hope). We
enjoyed plenty of gourmet foods and had the privilege to spend the
night at your gracious and welcoming Inn. The classic,
warm, and exquisite environment of the inn brought me sweet dreams
in this mid-spring night.
We experienced the goodness of this world
through the affection and care shown to us by our loving children.
We thank the Master for his blessings.

Re: Girls Getaway
Carl,

Salutations!! It has been my intention (you know how those go!!)
to email you on several occasions, however, I have been remiss
until now... I'm hoping that my feedback will not carry less
weight as the result of the time that has passed since our visit
on 2/11, 2/12, 2/13. In fact it should carry MORE weight,
because I'm still thinking back fondly to the time spent @ the
Aaron Burr w/ our AMAZING host, EJ!! My girlfriends and I shared
the top floor for the weekend and were greeted each morning by
the ever-gregarious EJ and a scrumptious spread!! He made
fantastic suggestions for dinner, (Marsha Browns) drinks, (Boat
House) and sights around town. I doubt our stay would have been
as enjoyable w/out his guidance and enthusiasm for our
"vacation"!! I have already had several occasions to speak of
our stay in your lovely B&B and have directed many to your
web-site. I hope that you value the feedback of your former (and
hopefully future) guests, as that was my intention in offering
it up for your perusal. EJ is a TRUE asset to your already fine
establishment!! I would be thrilled to find him still in
attendance upon my next visit to New Hope and the Aaron Burr
House!! Thanks again for your hospitality!!

"We took your "How -To" workshop last
winter and we are thrilled to inform you that we are now new innkeepers. Just
like you predicted, our change from "Missles (Defence industry) to
Muffins"
was effortless with your 'zen of innkeeping' training!"

"New Hope is a real Colonial era village,
and Lambertville a real Victorian town. With that sprinkling a snow last
night, they are true winter wonderlands for December shopping and fine
dining. And Aaron Burr House is the place to retreat to for a hot chocolate
by the fireplace in our canopied bedroom."
Bill & Nancy (Connecticut)
"Wow! I had a fight with my honey the same week
but 200 years apart from Burr's duel with Hamilton. The Burr and Hamilton
families took 200 years to end their feud. With the help of this big
lace-canopy bed, we kissed and made up in 2 minutes.
New Hope is for lovers, and the Aaron Burr House is the best place to kiss."

We had another wonderful time at your Inn. We will recommend you to
all our friends :>)

We enjoyed our stay at your B&B. Great location.
Thanks for your hospitality - and breakfast-in-bed!
Mike and Muriel (New Jersey)This
is a super comfy, cozy, beautifully decorated inn. The homebaked
cookies, Carl's secret recipe Almond Liquor and the fresh-picked apples
were great touches. Our Breakfast Tray was beautifully presented too.
Friendly and knowledgeable innkeepers topped off a relaxful midweek
escape from life. Loved New Hope and the whole inn experience here.

"This small Pennsylvania rivertown melds its history - from 18th
century village to '60's artist colony to trendy getaway destination
- into a comfortable whole....The Wedgwood Inn is a two minute walk
from Main Street - and Lambertville, New Jersey, a sister rivertown
on the east bank of the Delaware River. Rooms are appointed with an
eclectic mix of Victorian furnishings, Wedgwood china and original
art...our first pick for lodging in New Hope."
Native son, James A. Michener, welcomes you to Bucks County. (1994)
Bucks County is one of the few counties in the United States that is
famous under its own name. Cook County in Illinois and Dade in
Florida are other examples. Bucks County enhanced its well deserved
fame in the early years of this century and for three good reasons.
First, its considerable physical beauty and its abundance of old
family dwellings made it attractive to residents of New York City
and Philadelphia. This made it a kind of residential paradise, with
its winding roads, covered bridges and beautiful valleys. Second, a
group of wonderfully gifted painters congregated in New Hope, making
it the art capitol of the area and the center of an entire school of
painting. Daniel Garber, Edward Redfield and John Folinsbee gained
national attention.
Third, in the 1920's onward a much different group of famous writers
settled here, with Pearl Buck winning the Nobel Prize and others
winning Pullitzers. George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart wrote their
stage hits, Sid Pearlman his memorable satires, Dorothy Parker her
witticism and Oscar Hammerstein his great books and lyrics for stage
and musicals.
Bucks County was covered with writers and painters, but its good
reputation also rested on the basic structure of the area. The
small towns of Doylestown and New Hope became popular, the first for
two castles built by Henry Mercer and New Hope for its sense of
Nineteenth Century charm and interesting biuldings and fine dining.
Other towns like Quakertown and Bristol offered their own historic
riches.
As a lifelong resident of Bucks and as one proud of his
region's heritage of old English and German culture, I am proud to
welcome you to my county and to extend hospitality to you and your
family. We have always welcomed visitors - since the time of
William Penn. George Washington had an auspicious time here, so did
Edward Hicks, painter of "Peacable Kingdom." And so can you.
