New Hope, Bucks County,
Pennsylvania- USA
New Hope is a small bustling riverside
village, founded by William Penn in 1681, with an international reputation
as a thriving antiques and art center as well as the restaurant capitol of
bucolic Bucks County. The early English settlers named Bucks County,
known for its meandering country lanes, wooden covered bridges, and native
field stone farmhouses, because this area reminded them of their homeland,
Buckinghamshire. An all-American town, the region is still often compared
to the Cottswalds in England. Indeed New Hope and all of Bucks
County offer a serene destination for the sophisticated traveler.
Vista's that attracted the early English settlers and later the "New
Hope School" of landscape painters, are as inviting today as they
were then.
Located halfway between NYC and
Philadelphia this historic hamlet is only 10 miles off I-95 and 25 miles
from either Philadelphia International airport or Newark (NJ)
International airport. It is on the bus line from New York City and only
10 miles from the Amtrak train station (Trenton, NJ).
Aaron Burr House is ideally located
steps from the village center and the Delaware River and canal and only a
block from the Lambertville- New Hope Free Bridge and all that Lambertville
has to offer. In addition, Washington Crossing State Park is only a
mile away. The 7 guest rooms and suites combine the period charm of
lofty windows, black walnut floors, brass paddle fans, antique
furnishings, original art and hand made quilts with such modern essentials
as private baths and air conditioning. Several accommodations also
boast fireplaces and oversized beds. The 19th century house has also
been independently rated and approved by Mobil Guide (3 stars) and AAA (3
diamonds) and has been featured in the Bucks County Magazine, The
Washington Post and on CNN Travel Show.
There is always something going on in the New Hope, Bucks County area to add enjoyment to your visit. Just ask us about the dates you have in mind. If you are flexible with your calendar, consider planning for some of these upcoming

"Thanks for
arranging our private lantern–led ghost tour of New Hope. Not
only is the Inn delightful and the staff warm and welcoming, the
history of the house is amazing too. No wonder Aaron Burr fled to
New Hope for a week! We'd still 'hand around' too but there seems
to be enough ghostly going–ons around here already. Next year
we'll stay longer than 3 days though…" |

RE: Workshop for Aspiring Innkeepers at Wedgwood's
InnSchool:
"Thanks for an informative and thought-provoking two days of your B&B/Inn Seminar for Aspiring Innkeepers. While
I haven't yet decided for sure that owning and operating an inn is what
I'm cut - out to do, your workshop helped me get a start on a plan for my further research and consideration. In addition to the topic areas you addressed, the visits to other inns and Inn Style Wholesalers and MillBrook Food Distributers
were especially enlightening. Thank you very much." |
